This vintage armchair was beautifully custom made & upholstered in Bennison's "Wheat Flower" linen fabric (printed in England, colourway 'Faded on Beige'), with a coordinating teal piping. The chair would have required a minimum of 6m to upholster in this exquisite & very expensive fabric.
It is of classic English style with rolled arms and top, is structurally sound, and boasts a lovely plump down filled seat cushion.
The upholstery fabric is not faded (or possibly a fraction?!), nor significantly marked, however there are areas of wear to some parts of the piping, as shown in the photos.
As a side note, some of my favourite decorating books, usually the English ones, show images of well loved furniture sitting comfortably in beautiful rooms, & I personally believe it's the wear on these pieces that actually adds to the charm of the rooms. So I think the parts that show signs of love & use, such as the piping on this chair, should definitely be embraced, not replaced!
